Web Tools: Clipping Magic!

The above image says it all! The geniuses at ClippingMagic.com created this wonderful tool where users can upload their own images and key out the backgrounds.
There is a very simple concept behind it, simply color the general area you want to keep green, then the areas you want to remove red. A yellow line will then outline your selection, giving you the ability to further refine your selection if you arent happy.

Personally, I find the tool to be quite acceptable. It for the most part removes the correct background for any image I upload. With a little fine tuning it can be perfect in seconds. Now keep in mind, this tool is only in alpha, but it is still a wonderful web-based tool that works as advertised!
Now true this is no replacement for Adobe's Photoshop, but for those of you dont own Photoshop this is a wonderful alternative. There are s

Hello everyone~

My goal this year is to try to draw as much as possible and experiment, without worrying about how finished or polished something looks. This is a really big weakness of mine because I always feel like I shouldn't post unfinished or abandoned works, but the more open I can be about myself to the rest of the world, the better person I feel I can become. However I know a lot of people view my deviantART gallery as an informal portfolio, so I will be posting most of my work on tumblr: (link here)! I also livestream every week (livestream link here) on Tuesdays, starting 9pm PST and usually running until midnight, although sometimes I end an hour earlier or stay three hours longer...

I've also been trying to let myself buy things and use things that I think are "too nice" for me -- clothes, shoes, but also most importantly, sketchbooks! I always hesitate to buy nice clothes or draw in nice sketchbooks because I feel like I will ruin them, but I shouldn't tell myself that! I hope to really focus on self improvement this year.

Chinese New Year is this weekend! Happy year of the snake!

I can relate to the feeling of potentially ruining a sketchbook... but that's what they're for! If we cannot ruin them with our experiments, how will we grow? Its that thinking that's keeping me still buying them (okay I take that back, I've bought so many in the past I have a stock of empties I need to kill!).
